We raise a combination of simmental
breed, "Holstein Frisian " and "Red
Holstein".
We produce meat, milk and breeding cattle.
We feed our cows mostly with hay and
silage in a ratio of 1:1.
Silage raises the content of
carotin in the milk.
The first 5 months our calves are feeded
with raw cow's milk.
Since 1995 we run our farm organically:
Our animals are grazing at our nearby fields
every day.
For the production of our fodder we don't use any pesticides, fungicides and insecticides.
We buy the additionally required fodder at an organic farm we trust.
Furthermore we don't use genitically changed soya.
We manure exclusively with garbage from our animal husbandry.
At least once a year we are examined narrowly by the board of control called BIKO (http://www.biko.at).
